Like Capital One and American Express, Chase strives to spoil its cardholders with luxury airport lounges. The Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club give select travelers a premium experience at select airports across the U.S., as well as in Hong Kong.
Working in collaboration with Airport Dimensions, the operator behind The Club Airport Lounges, Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club features top-notch perks such as curated craft cocktails, locally-inspired food, wellness areas, high-speed Wi-Fi and quiet workspaces, all meant to make your airport experience more enjoyable.
Unlike its competitors’ lounges, however, you don’t necessarily need a Chase-issued credit card to get in.
Below, CNBC Select details all the ways to access Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club, plus the cards to consider adding if you want to try one out during your next trip.
Chase Sapphire Lounge locations
The first Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club opened in Hong Kong in October 2022, followed by the first U.S. location in Boston in May 2023. The Boston-Logan International Airport (BOS) lounge spans 11,640 square feet and features rest pods, shower rooms, massage chairs, made-to-order and ready-to-eat dishes and a taproom with local beers.
There are two Chase Sapphire lounges in New York — one at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and another at John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) that’s jointly operated with Etihad Airways. The LGA lounge spans 21,800 square feet across two floors with unique amenities like a retro-inspired arcade, complimentary facial treatments and Chase’s first-ever Reserve Suites. The JFK lounge is smaller at just 7,600 square feet but still boasts key features like made-to-order food, drinks and shower suites.
Additional Chase Sapphire lounge locations now open include Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and San Diego International Airport (SAN).
While not branded as a full-fledged Sapphire Lounge, Chase also manages and operates The Etihad Lounge at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). It has a similar look and feel to the Sapphire Lounges and follows the same access rules.
Here’s the full list of Chase Sapphire Lounges that are currently open:
- Boston-Logan International Airport, between Gate B40 and B39; Open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Hong Kong International Airport, near Gate 40 on Level 7 in Terminal 1’s West Hall; passengers traveling through the East Hall can still access it via a 10-15 minute walk or by taking the shuttle; Open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- New York – LaGuardia Airport: located in Terminal B in the direction of gates 41 to 59; Open daily from 4:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- New York – John F. Kennedy Airport, located in Terminal 4 post-security in the Mezzanine on Level 4 located above Gate A2; Open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport: Terminal 4 South 1 (S1) Concourse; Open daily from 4:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- San Diego International Airport: Terminal 2 West
- Washington Dulles International Airport, Concourse A near gate A14; Open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Additional lounges are expected to follow suit sometime in 2025:
- Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport: Terminal 1 near C Gates
- Philadelphia International Airport: Terminal D to E connector
- Los Angeles International Airport: Tom Bradley International Terminal
It’s worth noting that several of these airports already have competitor lounges. Hong Kong International Airport, Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and New York City’s LGA and JFK airports, for instance, each have an American Express Centurion Lounge, while Dulles in Washington, D.C. has a Capital One Lounge.
Each Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club features details and designs created especially for that particular location, primarily inspired by the city the airport is in.
You can expect signature cocktails, comfortable work and relaxation spaces, curated food and beverage menus featuring seasonal and locally inspired options, as well as airport lounge standards such as complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and plentiful power outlets.
Chase Sapphire Terrace
In March 2023, Chase opened the Sapphire Terrace in Austin. This isn’t a full-fledged Chase Sapphire lounge as it’s smaller than other lounges and has stricter entry requirements — it’s only accessible to Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders. It features an indoor-outdoor space with free drinks and grab-and-go food.
- Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, near Gate 1 on the mezzanine level of the Barbara Jordan Terminal; Open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
How to access Chase Sapphire Lounges
Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders who have activated the card’s Priority Pass™ membership receive unlimited access to any Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club.
Passengers booked on a same-day flight are allowed to enter the lounge up to three hours before it’s scheduled to depart. Children ages two and under get in free, as do up to two guests per visit (additional guests will have to pay a $27 fee to enter).
If you have a Priority Pass membership but don’t have a Sapphire Reserve card, you’ll receive one free entry to a Sapphire Lounge per calendar year. For every visit after the first, you’ll pay a fee. The Hong Kong location is the only exception, in that Priority Pass members enjoy unlimited access.
It’s also important to note that because the JFK and IAD lounges are jointly operated with Etihad Airways, premium passengers on the airline also receive access. This includes those flying Etihad business or first class, as well as Etihad Guest Platinum and Gold elite members.
Free or discounted access
Travelers with the Chase Sapphire Reserve® credit card can use their included Priority Pass Select membership benefit to access Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club, as well as more than 1,300 associated airport lounges worldwide. Cardholders also have access to more than 20 select Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Cafés when traveling on a departing or connecting Star Alliance airline flight.
Simply enroll with Priority Pass once you’re officially a Reserve cardholder and you’ll be able to enter Chase Sapphire lounges by flashing your physical membership card — most locations will also accept your digital membership card to gain entry.
