Republican presumptive candidate and former president Donald Trump is all set to gather with his donors to raise money for his White House reelection bid Saturday in Palm Beach, Florida, planning to narrow down the fund gap with his rival Joe Biden.

Donald Trump has planned to raise $33 million, aiming to break the record set by President Joe Biden in his last week’s fundraiser in Manhattan, New York.

Biden raised $26 million in the fundraiser that also featured two former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.

The event will be hosted by a hedge fund founder John Paulson who confirmed the event last week.

The 77-year-old’s campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC) secured $65.6 million in March, compared to the amount the former president had at the beginning of this year.

RNC Chair Michael Whatley said in a statement mentioning last month’s haul: “President Donald J Trump has again created a fundraising juggernaut among Republicans. While he has been the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party for less than a month, the RNC and Trump campaign are one unified operation and focused on victory.”

In January, the former president emerged as a presumptive nominee by the GOP as his competitors quit the race with the last of them being former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

The 81-year-old Biden raised $53 million in February with cash on hand reaching $155 million, whereas Trump secured $20 million with $42 million cash in the bank in the same month.
