If you are planning to travel across Karnataka or to neighbouring states such as Maharashtra and Telangana, here is an update to keep in mind. The South Western Railway (SWR) has announced revised schedules for several Vande Bharat Express trains.
The new timings will come into effect from March 15, 2026, and will impact important routes connecting Bengaluru, Hubballi, Belagavi, Dharwad and other cities. According to SWR officials, the revisions are intended to improve punctuality and better manage train movements at busy railway junctions.
While the total journey time will remain largely unchanged, arrival and departure timings at several intermediate stations will shift by a few minutes to nearly half an hour. For regular commuters and weekend travellers, these changes could be important when planning last mile connections such as cabs or Namma Metro transfers.
South Western Railway has scheduled a significant update for several Vande Bharat Express services as per their circular. The most notable adjustments include a 30-minute shift for the Kalburgi to SMVT Bengaluru service at Yelahanka station.
Additionally, the Belagavi to KSR Bengaluru route sees several arrival tweaks, with the train now reaching Yeshvantpur at 13:23. Commuters on the Kacheguda to Yeshvantpur line should note the new 15:55 arrival at Hindupur. These changes are designed to improve punctuality across the network, and passengers are advised to verify their specific schedules before traveling to avoid any last-minute confusion.
Major Changes for North Karnataka Routes
Passengers on the Hubballi–Pune and Belagavi–Bengaluru corridors should be particularly careful. The Hubballi-Pune service (Train 20669) has been adjusted at Belagavi and Ghataprabha. Meanwhile, the Bengaluru-bound service from Belagavi (Train 26751) has seen its arrival times shifted at major stops like Davanagere and Tumakuru.
The high-demand Kacheguda–Yeshvantpur (Hyderabad-Bengaluru) route is also seeing changes. Both the 20703 and 20704 services will have revised arrival times at Hindupur. Additionally, the Kalburgi–SMVT Bengaluru service is experiencing one of the most notable shifts, with a 30-minute change at Yelahanka station for Train 22231.
Railway officials have urged all passengers to double-check their departure and arrival times on the official IRCTC website or the RailMadad app before heading to the station. As the Ugadi festival approaches, these revised schedules will play a vital role in managing the holiday rush across the state.
