Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have praised their “unforgettable” tour of Nigeria amid a furore surrounding their charity’s paperwork.
The couple visited the country for 72 hours to mark the 10th anniversary of Prince Harry’s Invictus Games – which celebrates the sporting abilities of wounded, sick and injured servicepeople.
Taking to their website, the couple described the unofficial visit as “unforgettable” and said it will be the “first of many memorable trips”.
The happy statement comes amid news of the state of California declaring the couple’s charity “delinquent”.
The Archwell Foundation was given the status after “failing to submit [the] required annual report(s) and/or renewal fees.”
It is now unable to solicit or disburse charitable funds and faces being permanently suspended or revoked.
According to reports, the charity was not aware of there being any issue with its paperwork, which it reportedly sent, but it has now reissued it to rectify the issue.
The Archwell Foundation should be able to resume operations within seven business days, pending the successful receipt of the paperwork.
King Charles gives very personal insight into his cancer battle
The King today revealed he has lost his sense of taste during cancer treatment.
The monarch, 75, was speaking to British Army veteran Aaron Mapplebeck while visiting the Army Flying Museum in Middle Wallop, Hampshire, this afternoon.
When Mr Mapplebeck said he underwent chemotherapy last year to treat a testicular cancer diagnosis and that he had lost his sense of taste during the process, the King revealed this had also happened to him.
The Palace has not yet confirmed details of the King’s cancer or treatment.

Miranda Barbot, the Sussex’s Vice President of Programs and Media Operations, had an interesting response when a journalist wished the couple good luck on Saturday (11 May).
“Hope everything goes well today,” the journalist said.
“What do you mean?” she questioned. “What could go wrong?”
Barbot quickly realised that Saturday’s comment was about the grey skies and not the tour: “Ah yes, rain,” she added.
The remark was made ahead of a volleyball match at an outdoor sporting arena, where the couple were marking the 10th anniversary of Prince Harry’s Invictus Games.
The continuation of the celebrations comes after the Prince suffered two apparent snubs while marking the anniversary in the UK last week – the first was his father’s decision not to meet him on his brief trip and the second was the news that Prince William was about to become the colonel-in-chief of Harry’s old military regiment.

The 2023 memoir, which details the Duke of Sussex’s life in the royal family and subsequent decision to step down as a working member, suffered the losses last night (13 May).
The puzzle book Murdle by GT Karber was awarded Book of the Year at the London-based ceremony.
Meanwhile, Politics On The Edge by former International Development Secretary Rory Stewart beat Spare to be crowned the best narrative non-fiction book.
The Prince was also nominated for Author of the Year despite his memoir being ghostwritten, and he lost out in this category to Impossible Creatures writer Katherine Rundell.

Even hardened Sussex critics took a sharp intake of breath when they heard that the King would not meet Prince Harry last week. The Duke fleetingly arrived in London to headline at an Invictus 10th anniversary celebration in St Paul’s Cathedral, but despite the religious framework, he was not greeted as the prodigal son by his father.
Quite the reverse. 2.6 miles away (yes many measured the distance) the King was otherwise engaged, welcoming crowds in a top hat at his first Buckingham Garden Party of the season.
The sun shone, but domestic clouds stubbornly persisted.

Meghan met with women in the West African nation on Saturday (11 May) and acknowledged Nigeria as “my country” during a speech. She said: “When I had done the genealogy and I found out about my heritage, the first thing I did obviously was call my mom because I wanted to know if she had any awareness of it and I think, being African American and part of it is really not knowing so much about your lineage, your background, where you come from specifically and it was exciting for both of us to discover more and understand what that really means.”

Harry and Meghan’s Archewell charity found delinquent over unpaid fees and unable to fundraise
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archwell Foundation has been found delinquent over unpaid fees and warned it could face fines or suspension.
The delinquency notice was sent by California’s Attorney General Rob Bonta for failing to file its annual reports and renewal fees. As stated on California’s Department of Justice website, a notice is sent to an organisation after it fails to submit complete filings for each fiscal year.
The Sussexes’ foundation was established after they stepped down from their roles as senior working royals and relocated to the US in March 2020.

Kate doing well, William says, during visit to Isles of Scilly
The Prince of Wales has given a positive update about his wife’s cancer treatment – saying “she’s doing well”.
William was asked about Kate as he toured the only hospital on the Isles of Scilly to learn about a major building project to improve facilities being constructed on land owned by his Duchy of Cornwall.
Tracy Smith, administrator at St Mary’s Community Hospital in Hugh Town, greeted William when he arrived and hosted his tour of the small medical centre following his visit to the harbour where he bought his entourage Cornish pasties.
