Jonathan Majors is seeking support from the circle around him ahead of his sentence.
The update comes after the 33-year-old actor’s lawyer Priya Chaudhry filed a motion against his guilty verdict in the case of domestic violence.
However, the judge declined her plea which will now lead to his sentencing, scheduled for April 6.
“Jonathan feels disappointed by the outcome of the motion, yet he upholds respect for the process,” Priya Chaudhry told PEOPLE in a statement.
The case dates back to March 2023 when the former Marvel star fought with his former girlfriend Grace Jabbari in New York City.
Consequently, he was found guilty of misdemeanor assault in the third degree, recklessly causing physical injury, as well as harassment in the second degree in a domestic violence case.
Priya further told the outlet that Jonathan is “drawing strength from his friends, fans, family, and dogs, harnessing his art and creativity.”
“As he eagerly anticipates closing this chapter, he looks forward to redirecting his time and energy fully toward his family and his art,” she spoke further of the Creed actor.
