The first official photograph of the Princess of Wales has been released since her abdominal surgery in January.

Surrounded by her three children, the photo was posted online on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ X page, with a message: “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day.”

Kate has been missing from the public eye since her operation, resulting in unprecedented speculation on her whereabouts.

The former model, 39, was once a researcher for Conservative MP Michael Gove, but now spends her time managing the estate of her husband, David Rocksavage, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley.

Body language experts have had their say on the first official photograph of the Princess of Wales released since her abdominal surgery in January.

Adrianne Carter told the Daily Star: “Kate and Charlotte are showing all the prototypical genuine smiles and look relaxed. George and Louis smiles are also genuine but look more posed too.

“Both their mouths with the open mouth smile is often an exaggeration of a genuine smile.”

She added: “Women often take off their rings when they’re in relaxed mode, I know I do. I don’t think there’s anything to read into that.”
