Middle East conflict live updates: Ramadan begins with no cease-fire; Netanyahu stands by plan to attack Rafah


The Muslim holy month of Ramadan started Monday without the cease-fire deal in Gaza that the White House had hoped would be in place. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was committed to his country’s plan to attack the southern Gazan city of Rafah, after President Biden said that such an offensive would cross a “red line.”
